Built a business at 13
In October 2021 I started Teen Troupe, a thriving teen-run local services business in Summerville, SC: babysitting, pet sitting, cleaning, yard work and pressure washing. I coordinate the requests, the pricing, the scheduling and the delivery, and I promote it with flyers and direct outreach. Every job begins with a professional phone call or a conversation in person. I hired trustworthy, dependable cadets from my high school JROTC class to work alongside me. When I left for college, the business and my employees kept going without me, and I still coordinate the jobs and collect the revenue from nearly 900 miles away in South Deerfield, MA.
Outreach that gets answered
Outreach is my passion. These are the real numbers from my Teen Troupe posts.
People vouch for me
I asked a past client if she would be a reference. This was her answer.
"I'm very impressed by your work ethic and would be happy to provide a reference."
Attention to detail
Pressure washing shows every spot you skipped, so I do not skip any.

After
Hard work you can see
Yard work from the first shovel to the last clean edge.

Trusted with what matters
Pets, homes and the things people care about. I treat them the way I would want mine treated.
Love of photography
I notice light, angles and small details. It is the same eye I bring to every job.
My journey
From starting Teen Troupe at 13 to varsity orienteering and customer service: how I learned to do my best work.
Doing things my own way
"When I started my own business, the same work got easy."
In school, everyone was expected to learn and work the exact same way, and that never really fit me. But the day I started Teen Troupe at 13, things finally clicked. Answering clients, pricing jobs, and organizing schedules came naturally. Having something real of my own to run made all the difference.
Own the work and answer people
"Pick up the phone, and do what you said you would do."
I like keeping things simple: answer people quickly, show up on time, and do a clean job. I know what I love doing and what I do not, and I am honest about both. Doing things my own way is not about being difficult. It is just about doing the work well so people know they can rely on me.
Ready for the next desk
"I want to be the organized, friendly face at your front door."
I want to run the front desk, manage the phones, and handle client scheduling and social accounts for a local business. I stay calm when it gets busy, and I love working with people. And while I step into that role, I am keeping Teen Troupe going so more local teens can get real work too.
